Valentine's Day is just around the corner, which means planning out a romantic special day for your significant other.

With that said, if you're looking for some interesting date ideas that stray from the norm, then you're in luck!

1. Bike Date Under The Stars

There's something about a date under the starry sky that we just can't get enough of! Couple that with a tandem bike and the cool night breeze on your skin and you're off to a good start, plus you get your daily exercise in! A real win-win wouldn't you say?

When it comes to venues, there are a couple that come to mind. But the most popular is probably East Coast Park, a huge park beside the beach. With designated cycling roads, beautiful scenery, little stores to get your drinks/snacks!

Finish off your cycling date with a hearty meal at the "Lagoon" a hawker centre with an abundance of delicious food choices or take it a step further & have a picnic by the beach, it really doesn't get much better than that!

2. Ice Skating

Few things are more romantic than holding hands & skating on the ice with your partner. Take your date to one of the many ice skating rings in Singapore, one that comes to mind is The Rink @ JCUBE.

This huge ice skating rink uses real ice and features a Olympic size Ring. Just imagine, skating across the luscious white ice hand in hand, just thinking about it makes us feel warm inside. 

Plus, you get to earn some extra points if your partner is bad at it!

3. Go On a Romantic Stroll

A classic date and with good reason. There's just something so calming & enjoyable about going on a slow stroll with your significant other, taking in the beautiful sights and pouring your hearts out to each other.

One of our favourites would definitely be Botanical Gardens, it is touted as one of the most beautiful & romantic places in Singapore. With it's beautiful luscious green scenery and dazzling collection of orchids & flowers, Botanical Gardens is a real tough one to beat when it comes to romantic spots.

Don't worry about it being "mainstream", there's a reason for that, just go with it!

4. Have Workout Date at Home

This is one suggestion courtesy of one of our good friends, a special home workout date!

She decorated the house with Valentine's Day decorations while her boyfriend was at work. They did a couple workout that consisting of yoga, cardio & some body weight exercises before enjoying a special home-cooked meal with candles.

To cap off the evening they cuddled up on the sofa with blankets & snacks to watch a movie! There's just something so personal & thoughtful about a well-planned evening, give this one a try, we guarantee your partner will be lost for words.

5. Visit a Water Park

For couples that are bored of all the indoor dinner dates, there's no beating a trip to the water park. Not something that crosses your mind when you think "romance", but we think a fun date can be just as good as a romantic one, you guys have been working on that beach body, now’s the time to show it off!

Adventure Cove Waterpark is a pretty solid choice when it comes to waterparks. It has plenty of rides, a wave pool, and a water obstacle course to really have a competitive date.

To relax, You can even go snorkeling in the Rainbow Reef. For more adventurous couples, take the Riptide Rocket for a real adrenaline rush!

Remember to stop by their gift shop for some cute couple souvenirs before you leave.
